A Beginners Mind

I was reminded again the other day of a saying I read years ago – ” Shoshin – is a concept in Zen Buddhism meaning “beginner’s mind“. It refers to having an attitude of openness, eagerness, and lack of preconceptions when studying a subject, even when studying at an advanced level, just as a beginner in that subject would.”

I most recently listened to the audible book – Zen Mind – A beginners Mind by Shunryu Suzuki – Its short and well worth the read or the listen. A principle in life so important to remember no matter how advanced you become, that I thought it worth a short post.
